1 |
 |
PICK: Reggie Bush
REASON: I usually hate doing trades, but this makes to much sense to make. The Texans need to get as many picks as possible and the Jets need an heir to the Curtis Martin throne. Bush also benefits by going into the epicenter of the media world. |
2 |
 |
PICK: Matt Lienart
REASON: After his great bowl game, Lienart is easily taken by the Saints. Whoever ends up coaching the team gets to start off with the best QB prospect since fellow USC star Carson Palmer. |
3 |
 |
PICK: D'Brickshaw Ferguson
REASON: The Titans get the best OL prospect in the draft who without the USC stars would likely have been the number one pick this year. |
4 |
 |
PICK: Eric Winston
REASON: The Texans trade down, and could trade even lower and still get some much needed talent along the offensive line. Winston is only a hair below Ferguson. |
5 |
 |
PICK: DeAngelo Williams
REASON: Ahman Green looks to be on his last legs, and the Packers need to get someone who can handle the ball 30 times a game while they break in Aaron Rodgers. |
6 |
 |
PICK: Mario Williams
REASON: Williams is the most all around DE in the draft and would be a great fit in the 3-4 Defense Nolan runs in San Fran. |
7 |
 |
PICK: Vince Young
REASON: Al Davis will want someone who will bring some hope to the team and who better than a two time Rose Bowl MVP. |
8 |
 |
PICK: Jonathan Scott
REASON: Mike Williams has been horrible at tackle, and Losman needs someone who is used to protecting a QB that can take off. Scott would start immediately and allow Williams to move onside permanently and maybe resurrect his career. |
9 |
 |
PICK: AJ Hawk
REASON: Whoever ends up coaching the Lions must convince Millen to draft Defense. Hawk is arguably the best defensive player in the draft and will help solidify a decent line backing unit. |
10 |
 |
PICK: Haloti Ngata
REASON: Arizona needs someone who can give them a push up the middle and Ngata has been consistent in College at doing that. |
11 |
 |
PICK: Jimmy Williams
REASON: The Rams need to upgrade their poor secondary, and Williams who can pay either corner or safety would be ideal for them. |
12 |
 |
PICK: Mathias Kiwanuka
REASON: Cleveland needs someone to get after the QB and Kiwanuka is the best pure pass rusher in the draft. |
13 |
 |
PICK: Brady Quinn
REASON: Boller has done nothing in four years, and it's time for the Ravens to think of the future and get someone who can deliver the ball accurately. |
14 |
 |
PICK: Martin Nance
REASON: The Eagles boast one of the worst receiving corps in the league and need help after jettisoning the virus named Owens. |
15 |
 |
PICK: Michael Huff
REASON: After providing useless targets to Vick, the Falcons should turn their attention to helping their defensive backfield. |
16 |
 |
PICK: Marcus McNeil
REASON: Miami needs to add someone who can open holes for the Brown/Williams tandem. |
17 |
 |
PICK: Laurence Maroney
REASON: After using a gazillion backs in recent years, the vikings have a chance at bringing in a local guy can appease the poor fans. |
18 |
 |
PICK: Darnell Bing
REASON: The fact that Parcells gave a call to Darren Woodson at a possible shot in playing in the playoffs shows that they need help at saftey. |
19 |
 |
PICK: Santonio Holmes
REASON: Old man McCardell is getting up there in age, and they need someone who will provide big plays on the outside so LT will have less to deal with. |
20 |
 |
PICK: Derek Hagan
REASON: Although the Chiefs are crap on defense, their offense has become increasingly one dimensional with only Kennison and Gonzalez to throw to. Hagan would allow Parker to move into the slot where he could be very affective at stretching the field. |
