WEEKLY PICKS
Week 13

Old Blue's Weekly Picks

Last Week (vs. Spread): 10-6 (9-7)
Overall (vs. Spread): 94-68 (72-90)

Week #13

Thursday

Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals (-2.5)
The Bengals put up a decent fight against the Ravens a few weeks ago, and they were on the road.  This week they’re playing at home and with a renewed sense of confidence and I think Ocho Cinco will lead his Bengals to victory.
Bengals over Ravens 27-24

Sunday

Detroit Lions at New England Patriots (-13.5)
Last week I said that if the Lions lost, I wouldn’t pick them again this year, and I’m sticking to that this week.
Pats over Lions 28-13

San Diego Chargers at Buffalo Bills (+7.5)
Will the Bills be able to stop LT?  I don’t think so, he’s pretty much unstoppable, he can even beat you by throwing the ball! Is there anything he can’t do?  Also Merriman comes back this week to reinforce the Chargers defense.  I predict the Bill’s slim playoff hopes go down the drain this week.
Chargers over Bills 30-21

Atlanta Falcons at Washington Redskins (-2.5)
I think Vick bounces back this week, and mainly his receivers bounce back and actually catch some balls, will the Redskins defense be able to hold up again this week?  The Redskins offense won’t be able to match the Falcons and Vick.
Falcons over Redskins 21-13

Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans (+8.5)
Will Vince Young have another great comeback victory (Texas style)?  Not this week, the Colts are too good and they won’t have a let down this week.
Colts over Titans 33-7

Arizona Cardinals at St-Louis Rams (-6.5)
Marc Bulger and Steven Jackson have big weeks propelling the Rams to another victory keeping them in the playoff hunt.  However, Leinart has both Fitzgerald and Boldin healthy, so I see him having a big game as well, so it will be a bit of a shootout.
Rams over Cards 30-27

San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints (-7.5)
Brees continues to throw the ball well this week against the Niners, while Frank Gore has another big game on the ground.  This game will come down to turnovers and I think Brees will have that under control this week leading his Saints to victory.
Saints over Niners 28-25

New York Jets at Green Bay Packers (+1.5)
Brett Favre is having fun again according to a bunch of commentators, well he does have a couple of decent receivers in Jennings and Driver, but in the end the Jets are a stronger/tougher team and will have their way against the Packers this week.  Favre will throw some costly picks and the Jets will make him pay.
Jets over Packers 24-20

Kansas City Chiefs at Cleveland Browns (+6.5)
LJ keeps on rolling and has another big running game, with about 150 yards once again, this guy just keeps running over people, the Browns won’t be able to stop him.
Chiefs over Browns 21-13

Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears (-9.5)
The last time these two teams played, the Vikings almost outplayed the Bears and nearly pulled away the victory, will they win this week? I think it’s doubtful, but the Vikings will put up a good fight and they’re great run defense will stop the combo of Benson and Jones, but the Bears will create enough turnovers to win the game.
Bears over Vikings 13-7

Houston Texans at Oakland Raiders (-2.5)
Jesus, what a dreadful game!  Two of the worst teams in football face off, the Raiders have been horrible this year, but they have improved somewhat and the Texans have shown some signs, I like Carr and I like Mario Williams on defense, so I’ll give the edge to the Texans.
Texans over Raiders 17-14

Jacksonville Jaguars at Miami Dolphins (-2.5)
Which Jags team will show up this week?  Who knows, they’re such a two faced team.  The Dolphins have been picking up the wins of late, especially with their defense, but I feel like the Jags running game will be too much for them and Harrington will make some costly errors.
Jags over Dolphins 17-10

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Pittsburgh Steelers (-7.5)
Another dreadful game, the Steelers are done and the Bucs are old and have no offense.  I’m gonna have to go with the Steelers in this one, now that they’re playoff hopes are over they play more lose and start picking up some wins.
Steelers over Bucs 21-13

Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants (+4.5)
The Giants completely broke down last week, I thought it was quite amusing since I hate Eli Manning and I hate the Giants jumpshot thing, it’s so stupid.  Tony Romo outplays Manning this week and the Cowboys get another win.
Cowboys over Giants 33-17

Seattle Seahawks at Denver Broncos (-3.5)
Will the Seahawks be able to win at mile-high?  Will Cutler have a big week in his first start as an NFL QB?  The Seahawks started to look good at the end of last mondays game, will they carry this momentum on?  I think the Broncos will come up with a close win and everyone in Denver will hail Cutler.
Broncos over Seahawks 27-24

Monday

Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles (+4.5)
The Panthers were pathetic last week, losing to the ‘Skins, this was supposed to be the time of year when they would get hot.  As for the Eagles, they’re missing McNabb and that’s huge, as good as Garcia is, he’s no McNabb.  The Eagles pull of a decent fight but the Panthers bounce back this week and edge out a win on the road.
Panthers over Eagles 24-20
