Overall (vs. Spread): 17-15 (13-19)
Week #3
Sunday
Washington Redskins at Houston Texans
The Redskins were expected to do better than they have this year but they find themselves winless right out of the gate. Gibbs and his crew have a lot of urgency which will help against the woeful Texans.
Redskins over Texans 14-10
Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins
What a perfect team for the Dolphins to go up against after starting 0-2. Culpepper has to do well against the Titans. If not, he may have to take a seat on the bench. That’s a huge motivator.
Dolphins over Titans 23-7
New York Jets at Buffalo Bills
The Bills have a lot of confidence now after playing two good games against division opponents. Now here’s the third. The Bills defense punished Culpepper and they’ll look to punish the injury prone Pennington.
Bills over Jets 17-10
Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers
After getting their asses handed to them on Monday night, the Steelers may be starting to doubt their greatness. It’s the perfect time for Palmer and the Bengals to show everyone who’s the new king of the AFC North.
Bengals over Steelers 31-13
Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts
I’m still not convinced the Jaguars a bona-fide contender. The Colts however are. Peyton Manning and co. will bring the Jags back down to earth for a bit.
Colts over Jaguars 27-10
Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
One of these teams is going 0-3. I can’t believe it won’t be the Bucs. Simms is feeling down for his poor play and he also sucks. Delhomme is feeling down for his poor start to the season and this will help motivate him not to do any worse and he should be able to bounce back.
Panthers over Buccaneers 13-3
Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions
The Lions had to play the Seahawks and the Bears the first 2 weeks of the season. Not much could be asked of them for that. Luckily they now get to play the Packers to show if they really have improved over last season. Even if they haven’t, they can still beat the Packers.
Lions over Packers 34-28
Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings
This game is to see who will be the early leader for the division title. The Vikings got lucky to beat the Panthers last week. The Bears won’t do them any favours like John Fox did last week.
Bears over Vikings 23-6
Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns
Another patsy for the Ravens to beat and then pound their chests for doing what most teams in the league could have done with the weakness of their schedule for the first 3 games. I can’t wait until they play a good team.
Ravens over Browns 16-10
Philadelphia Eagles at San Francisco 49ers
The Eagles are absolutely pissed at themselves for collapsing last week against the Giants and giving them the win. They’ll use that against the 49ers and it shouldn’t be pretty. There may be another blow-up on the horizon for Antonio Bryant.
Eagles over 49ers 34-7
New York Giants at Seattle Seahawks
The Giants have their 1 win because they got lucky last week. Was it enough of a wake-up call for the G-men? Will the first two struggles the Seahawks had be a wake-up call for them? Oh, it doesn’t matter. The Seahawks are easily the better team.
Seahawks over Giants 28-10
St. Louis Rams at Arizona Cardinals
The Rams looked good against the Broncos in week 1, and then looked horrible against the 49ers in week 2. What gives? The Broncos answered this by being horrible against the Chiefs in week 2. All this adds up to the Rams being crap.
Cardinals over Rams 27-18
Denver Broncos at New England Patriots
The Broncos are in serious trouble. They looked absolutely horrendous against the Huard-lead Chiefs. Plummer’s career as a starter may soon be over.
Patriots over Broncos 23-13
Monday
Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints
Finally, the NFL has come back to the Superdome. Why does everyone care so much? Yes, Katrina was horrible… but the Saints were on there way out of New Orleans. For some reason this game is supposed to be super emotional for the Saints now that they’re back home. Even if it is, it they’re defense is so porous that it won’t matter and Warrick Dunn will have a field day rushing.
Falcons over Saints 16-14
